What to bring to ensure your adventure is comfortable and safe.
Documentation: A valid passport or national ID. If you are a cruise passenger, your cruise documentation. A ticket or boarding confirmation, either printed or on your mobile device. Luggage should be clearly labeled with your name and cruise tags to facilitate check-in upon your return.
Personal medications: If required, keep them readily accessible in your carry-on bag at all times.
Money: Carry cash or credit/debit cards for personal expenses such as entrance fees, souvenirs, and meals, as well as for small purchases and gratuities.
Camera or mobile phone: Bring a camera or smartphone to capture and preserve the highlights of your journey.
Comfortable clothing: Wear comfortable attire and bring a light jacket or windbreaker, as weather conditions can change throughout the day—especially in coastal and mountainous regions.
Appropriate footwear: Wear comfortable sneakers or low-heeled shoes, ideal for navigating streets, paths, and stairs. In Valparaíso, where many streets are cobblestoned, high heels are not recommended. For mountain areas—such as dirt trails, rocky terrain, or snow—proper, sturdy footwear is essential.
Sun protection: Sunscreen is essential. Due to Chile’s high UV radiation levels, we recommend an SPF 50+ formula with broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) protection and a lightweight feel. Sunglasses, along with a cap or hat, are also highly recommended.
Water and snacks: Although there will be scheduled stops, it’s always helpful to have something on hand.
Clothing recommendations: Select your outfit based on the tour you’ve booked and adapt it to the destination’s weather conditions. Coastal and mountainous areas can be cooler—particularly in the afternoons—so layering is recommended. Be sure to take the season of your visit into account as well.
